Boulet Boots
Boulet boots hail from Canada and originated in 1933. Hand crafted with immaculate precision, these boots showcase the experience the company possesses. Boulet manufactures all of the Canadian army’s boots, placing them in a position of knowledge when it comes to durability and comfort. Boulet also makes excellent motorcycle boots, for those who prefer a bike to a horse.
Lucchese Boots
Lucchese’s Classics, 2000, 1883, and Diva styles are all made in El Paso, Texas. Lucchese was created in 1883, making them one of the original surviving cowboy boot manufacturers. An extraordinary knowledge of the human foot allowed this family-owned business to create superbly comfortable and high quality cowboy boots, which quickly gained them national recognition. Lucchese also owns the Resistol and Charlie 1 Horse brands, both of which Kokopelli carries.
Cowboy Boot History
While the original inventor of cowboy boots is a matter of debate, the original purpose is not. In 1870, after the completion of the Civil War, cowboys requested their own unique style of boot. This request was met with boots that fit the cowboys’ rough lifestyle. These boots were taller to protect the legs from brush, water, and long hours of riding. A pointy toe allowed the rider to get into stirrups more easily. An underslung heel kept the feet in the stirrups while riding, but also kept them from going all the way through, so that a rider’s foot would not be stuck in the stirrup should he be flung from the horse. This ingenious heel could also be dug into the ground while pulling an animal along. Thick leather protected the riders’ legs and seams that were stitched on the outside prevented the leather from buckling and rubbing on the inside.
The cowboy boots of today have come a long way from their humble beginnings, while still retaining their original functionality. These boots have evolved colorful stitching, elaborate overlays, and intricate designs. These aesthetic options, combined with multiple toe styles, heel styles, and boot heights allow for limitless possibilities. Whether acquired for their style or their practicality, a high quality set of cowboy boots will pass the test of time.
Whether you are looking for super stylish boots, elegant dress boots, comfortable slides, or just a durable pair of versatile cowboy boots, Kokopelli is sure to have something that will catch your eye.
